Pat McIntyre - Mr. Brightside (Killers cover - acoustic with loop pedal)

Pat McIntyre - Mr. Brightside (Killers cover - acoustic with loop pedal) Video Clips. Duration : 4.98 Mins.

Follow me on Twitter! @macdaddy_p twitter.com Hi all, thanks for the comments on my Verve cover - glad people enjoyed it! As a follow up, here is my version of Mr. Brightside by the Killers. It's played acoustically with a Boss RC-20 loop pedal, which lets me record and loop what I'm playing. Everything you hear is recorded live and in real time. I recorded the video on a ropey old digital camera and put the audio into my laptop, then tried to sync the two up. It's not perfect but about as good as I could get it! Hope you like this one... please leave a comment and check out my myspace page for some originals - myspace.com/patmcintyre. Cheers! P lyrics I'm coming out of my cage And I've been doing just fine Gotta gotta be down Because I want it all It started out with a kiss How did it end up like this? It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss Now I'm falling asleep And she's calling a cab While he's having a smoke And she's taking a drag Now they're going to bed And my stomach is sick And it's all in my head But she's touching his chest Now, he takes off her dress Now, letting me go And I just can't look - it's killing me And taking control Jealousy, turning saints into the sea swimming through sick lullabies Choking on your alibis But it's just the price I pay Destiny is calling me Open up my eager eyes '˜Cause I'm Mr Brightside I'm coming out of my cage And I've been doing just fine Gotta gotta be down Because I want it all It started out with a kiss How did it end up ...

How to Key Green Screen DSLR Footage in Premiere Pro CS5

How to Key Green Screen DSLR Footage in Premiere Pro CS5 Tube. Duration : 7.22 Mins.

www.learningdslrvideo.com Almost from the start I have been following Fstoppers.com, yes I know it's mostly a photography site and not about DSLR video, but actually it relates to video more than you think. If you ever watched some of their featured videos like the one with the Iphone or even the Lee Morris wedding photography video you will notice that not only do these guys take awesome pictures, but they also create some awesome BTS videos as well. Patrick Hall from Fstoppers contacted me and asked if I would create step-by-step green screen tutorial for Premiere CS5, and I told him I would be honored. Just a quick disclaimer for those not familiar with me and my site, I'm an amateur and I show all the mistakes I make as I learn how to shoot video on a DSLR. That being said, I have been doing green screen work for about 4 years now, but I am totally self taught - so I am not a pro at this. I use cheap halogen work lights for my setup. First up is my 250watt hair light which provides some depth by providing a nice rim light on my shoulder and hair, I made the barn doors out of sheet metal. Next up is my 1000 watt key light that's high up and pointing through a window frame made from nylon stop fabric. My fill light is set to 500 watts which also is using the same screen frame. After that I have two work lights for lighting the green screen, and as you can see they do a bad job, one of these days I'm going to replace them with something better but Premiere Pro does such ...

Motorcycle Intercoms - How to Choose the Best Motorcycle Intercom For You

Without a motorcycle intercom, motorcycle riding is a solitary experience. When you're riding alone it's a good way to clear your head or get your thoughts together. But if you've got a passenger, or you're riding with another biker, inevitably you'll want to talk to them. Motorcycle intercom systems that mount in your helmet let you do that.

Digital Camera

The problem is that there are so many to choose from in such a wide price range. It's hard to decide which one to choose. And given that motorcycle intercoms have to work in an extremely difficult environment, choosing the right one can make the difference between enjoying your new purchase or hating it. This motorcycle intercom review will hopefully make your decision easier.

Let's start with a broad overview of the types of motorcycle intercoms available.

Acoustic Motorcycle Intercom

The most basic form of motorcycle intercom is the acoustic intercom. By acoustic I mean that it doesn't use electronics at all. It just uses hollow tubes that your voice travels through. They're like the old ships where the captain yells down a tube to the engine room to tell them to "give it more steam."

These systems have rubber-tipped tubes that insert in your ear the same way an earplug would. There is also a mouthpiece tube for you to talk into and all the tubes connect into a junction box.

One of the positives is that there are no batteries or electronics to mess with. That makes them very dependable. However, there is no amplification which means there is no way to adjust the volume or filter out wind noise. So at higher speeds, it will be more difficult to hear. Another problem is that some people find the "earplugs" uncomfortable in their ears for long periods.

Obviously these acoustic intercoms only work for rider-to-passenger and not bike-to-bike.

Wired Motorcycle Intercom

The next step up is wired intercoms. These systems have wires that run from the rider and passenger into a central control box that houses the electronics and battery.

Just like the acoustic intercom, with a wired system you don't have to worry about any external interference like you do with wireless technologies, unless you add a radio handheld communicator for bike-to-bike talking to your system. Some wired units let you plug in an FRS/GMRS radio, which is described in the wireless technology section below. The radio requires voice activation for it to work.

One of the issues some people have is that the wiring can be a little bit of a pain. Every time you and a passenger get on and off the bike you have to remember to unplug the units. Depending on how you have it set up, this could be two or three plugs.

Wireless Intercom Technology

There are four types of radio technologies used in the U.S. for motorcycle intercoms. They are GMRS, FRS, FM, and Bluetooth. There are also wired intercoms that enable you to plug into a handheld Citizens Band (CB) radio that has voice activation.

Frequency Modulation (FM) radio is similar to the FM radio you listen to, but for motorcycle intercoms a narrower frequency is used. Like FM radio, these systems can produce clear sound, as long as the distance between them isn't too great. FM radio works best when there are no obstructions such as hills between the transmitter and receiver. If long range is the most important feature, then GMRS intercoms will provide better performance.

The Family Radio Service (FRS) and the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) are the modern equivalents to the old walkie talkies you may have had when you were a kid. FRS radios typically have a maximum range of two miles with few obstructions in between, while GRMS radios communicate up to several miles. Like FM, these are public frequencies so other people can hear your conversations and vice versa. In some heavily populated areas these FRS/GRMS radios are heavily used, while out on the open road you should have fairly private conversations.

One nice thing with the FRS and GMRS radios is that you can go to your local discount store and purchase a cheap handheld radio that will communicate with these units. If someone were following you in a car, or they had a wired motorcycle intercom system that lets them plug in an FRS/GMRS handheld radio, they can communicate with you. The downside of this was just mentioned in that there are millions of these radios out there so in heavily populated areas you'll pick up lots of other transmissions. Also GMRS radios require an FCC license for legal use.

Bluetooth is the latest technology to hit motorcycle intercoms. Not only can these systems communicate totally wirelessly from rider to passenger, they can be used to communicate from bike to bike. Although with these systems the range is not in miles, it is in hundreds of feet. Since you are likely riding close to your buddies, this is not usually a problem. Although, range can be as much as 800 to 1600 feet.

The Bluetooth range limitation actually works as an advantage since it limits the amount of outside interference you'll get. Also, since you must program two units to work together, you won't pick up conversations from other people with Bluetooth devices...and they won't be able to hear you. You won't have to worry about your conversations listened to by anyone else.

If you want Bluetooth wireless communication there is one thing to watch for. Some units that say they are Bluetooth use FRS or GMRS to communicate bike-to-bike and the Bluetooth is just used to communicate with a Bluetooth enabled cell phone or other device.

Bluetooth intercoms also usually have some other features you won't find on other types of intercoms such as:
Integrate with Bluetooth enabled cell phones and automatically answer calls totally hands free. Enjoy your favorite stereo music from your A2DP enabled cell phone or MP3 player Listen to the audio navigation message from your Bluetooth enabled GPS.

Some Bluetooth intercoms only have one ear speaker while others have two.

Motorcycle Helmet Intercom Features

Here are features to look for as you are shopping for an intercom to use with your motorcycle helmet:
If you may be riding in the rain, get a system that says it's waterproof and not just water resistant. Some riders will put a water resistant system in a plastic baggie and that works for them. You can get systems that have a headset speaker for one ear or both ears. Installation and moving the intercom to another helmet is easier for systems with only one ear, but some people want to hear sound in both ears. Most systems have voice activation of some kind to keep the headset quiet when no talking is occurring. This voice activation often has the ability to be disabled and a push-to-talk switch used instead. Many intercoms have noise reduction capabilities with digital signal processing to help reduce the noise they pick up from the microphone. The faster you drive, or the windier it is, the more important this feature is. If you want music, look for a system that has a built-in FM stereo radio tuner or an auxiliary stereo input for a Walkman, MP3, iPod, or satellite radio unit. You can also use this input to receive driving directions from a voice prompted GPS unit. Some systems mount on your helmet, while others have capability to mount on your belt clip or bike. If the system is big and bulky, you may want the ability to mount it on your bike. You can integrate some intercoms with cell phones so you can talk while you ride. They require special cables or you can get motorcycle intercoms that have Bluetooth capability so they connect to your Bluetooth-enabled phone wirelessly.

Once you find the right motorcycle intercom for you, it will really make your ride with other people much more enjoyable. You'll wonder how you got along without it. You typically get what you pay for when you buy motorcycle intercoms, but even a bad motorcycle intercom is better than none at all.

Creating Hell in a Pop Bottle

Creating Hell in a Pop Bottle Video Clips. Duration : 7.33 Mins.

Hydrogen Oxygen has an adiabatic flame temperature of about 3000 degrees kelvin, thats about half the temperature of the surface of the Sun. Question is... just for fun, can you put that into a pop bottle! Previously I've shown other fuel air burns, one similar to that used in most internal combustion engines (butane air), and the other as one of the more common rocket fuels (hydrogen oxygen). Both release lots of energy when they burn, which is of course what makes them suitable as fuels. The hydrogen oxygen burn though is particularly fascinating as it only produces water as an 'exhaust', further it produces very little water! Indeed to fill a bottle with hydrogen and oxygen you only need to turn about 0.5g of water into H2 and O2, and of course when you burn it you only recreate that half gram of water. To make life even more interesting, to actually do the electrolysis I use a 12 volt Li-ion polymer battery, very similar to those used in most laptops today, simply so folk can visualise in a very simple way the energy content in these everyday objects. Indeed the energy content is significantly higher as only a fraction of the energy I draw from this battery actually goes into creating the H2 and O2, while probably the majority goes into heating up the electrolysis solution. Now when H2 and O2 burn, there is actually a reduction in the number of molecules of gas, which would, if all other conditions were the same actually produce a reduction in pressure, however the ...

How to Start a Magazine in 6 Steps

Starting a magazine is not as hard as you would think. I have started several myself and successfully published them for years. Make no mistake, it is hard work, but if you can meet a few key requirements you can get your magazine off the ground.

What are those few key requirements?

1) You need some money to do this - Every business start up needs some capital and magazines are no different. How much do you need? As little as a few hundred dollars will work (not including your printing costs) to get your first issue on the streets and/or news stands. For a projected higher end book, you will need thousands of dollars dependent on what market you are entering and how big you are going right off the bat. The key will be to learn the skills you need to publish and do the tasks yourself rather than hire an office full of workers and payroll (I will hit on those skills in a minute and talk more about cash in a minute).

2) Equipment - At least one good computer capable of operating the various software you will need (Adobe InDesign and at least Adobe Photoshop), a good digital SLR camera like the Nikon D50 which runs about 0, a phone and a dependable vehicle.

3) The ability to sell - Magazines big and small run off of advertisements and yours will be no different. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a solid sales strategy in place before you take on this project. I will talk more about selling further along.

4) Creativity - You can't survive without offering something new to your readers in an attractive package and for this being creative is a necessity.

Step #1 - Develop the Framework

You probably have an idea of what type of magazine you want to publish but from here you need to construct some basic framework. Pick a name for your magazine carefully, make sure you are not stepping on anyone's trademark by searching the US trademark database.

Your website's domain name is also something to consider when choosing your name. Search for open domains that match your magazine's name as closely as possible. It is okay to use a few sudo-odd takes on domains for magazines like magazinenameonline.com or magazine-name.com. Register your domain and contact a web development company that you like to start work on your magazine's new website. I personally like 22 Creative as they specialize in websites for magazines. Your website does not need to be awesome right out of the gate, just something professional that is clear about who you are and what your book is about - expect to spend anywhere from a few hundred dollars to thousands here. A website is an essential part of this process though, do not skip out on this one.

Okay, you have a name and a website, what's next? Figure out what you are going to include in your first issue by writing out an editorial outline. Fancy name but in reality, just write out what you want to feature, how many pages you want to devote to each item and how many pages for ads you want to stash away (this will be dependent on how many ads you sell for your first issue). How many pages should your magazine be? Two factors are in play here. One is the cost of printing the magazine as it costs more to print a bigger magazine obviously, the second is how much editorial can or do you want to produce? You do not need a 100 page book your first go around so, dependent on what your competitors are doing, aim for around 50 pages for a local or lifestyle magazine and 90+ for a magazine you want to distribute on national news stands.

Step #2 - It's Time to Produce Content

Contrary to popular belief, you do not need an army of 'journalists' to publish your first issue. I have produced content for hundreds of magazines by myself or with the help of just a handful of people, it is not that hard.

Start with item number one on your editorial outline. Write your text first, making sure to follow basic guidelines for writing editorial (Google search it for tons of help). Have friends read the copy and get their honest opinion. Did you lose your readers attention at any point? Are your facts correct? Do you have any typos?

A picture is worth a thousand words literally. People like pictures, big, colorful pictures and lots of them. Decide on how many pictures you need for the piece and whether or not you can take the photos yourself or if you need to buy them/license them from a stock photo service. If you can take them yourself, head out and start snapping. Take clear, in-focus images and take lots of them. You do not want to have to go back and re-shoot anything because you did not get the shot. Also, set your camera to take 300dpi images, normal smaller resolution images will not work and will look pixilated in the final product - nothing comes off as more rookie than low-res photos in magazines. Remember if you have any people in your photos, get them to sign a 'model release' allowing you to use their image in your publication. If you need to buy an image from a stock photo website, make sure you buy a 300dpi image that is suitable for printing. Expect to pay anywhere from - for each photo, if you encounter a website that charges more, you would be over paying.

After you have knocked your editorial out, sleep on it and go over it yourself. Is it good? How many magazines have you seen that all regurgitate the same tired 'electronics features' of iPhones and some silly whatever that not many people care about? Lots. You have to have a new take on things if you want to see issue number 2, 3, 54, etc.

Step #3 - Start Selling Ads Yesterday

New publishers often fall into the trap of just focusing on the creative side of the magazine and not the sales. As an independent publisher, you have to wear both hats. Start by putting together a media kit for your new magazine. A media kit is a couple pages, printed out that act as a resume for your magazine featuring all of the details of who your magazine is for, how many you print, your distribution tactics, what ads you offer and how much they cost, etc. In the beginning most of your sales will not be because of your media kit, this is just an essential thing to have to leave with prospective advertisers. I could go on and on about how to sell ads for new magazines but if you read it, you would have to send me a pretty big check as that is closely held information by all in the industry. What I can tell you is start with a plan; call on advertisers that make sense for your magazine. It is a waste of time to try and sell an ad to Budweiser if you are a new magazine that is about quilting - it's just not going to happen. Put yourself in that business owners shoes, would you consider it?

Now is not the time to get rich quick. You want to sell ads to pay the bills and hopefully recoup your investment and live. That means price your ad offerings in reality. For an idea of what reality is, try and find out what similar magazines in your market are charging. Do not go to low on your pricing however, believe in the value of your magazine - giving it away free almost guarantees future failure. I know of one magazine that just kept throwing money at itself, starting in new markets without first being profitable in one and to appear successful, they gave away their ad space. A couple years later and it is common knowledge in the media buying industry that no one pays for ads in that magazine ever. If a potential advertiser says they want it for less than you want to sell it for, pass on them politely and come back to them in a few months after you can prove a stronger value to justify your rate card.

Most importantly, offer value to your advertisers. There are a gazillion different ways to do this but it all starts with you delivering a strong, readable publication on time. The old under-promise and over-deliver adage works well here.

Step #4 - Layout Time

It's crunch time. Layout is hardly ever pleasurable, my first issue I ever designed took me about 72 hours of work with about 6 hours of sleep in that period - not exactly what I call an awesome good time. Make sure you know how to use your software BEFORE you need to start laying out your pub. Pretty much the whole free world uses Adobe InDesign to layout their magazines. It is a reliable and easy to use program that will run you about 0 unless you can find a deal. You should seriously consider purchasing one of Adobe's Creative Suites that bundles InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Those three programs will take you anywhere you want to go in publishing as I have been relying on them for years. Yes that is some expensive software but is essential and well worth the money if you are serious about doing this right.

If you flip through a random magazine here and there, you will notice that a lot of them have an inconsistent layout throughout the book, meaning that the fonts and styles change every few pages or every story. If this appeals to you knock yourself out, just know that it is not a good practice to follow. You need to aim for a balanced flow with your layouts. The first page of content should be very close to the last page and not stray too far in between. Use a text font at or above 8 points and never smaller. Don't forget those pictures, lots and lots of pictures. Learn to use Photoshop to clean your photos up. I have spent at least 60 seconds with every photo I have ever placed in a magazine layout - it is a crime to run photos with zero post work done on them, just a straight up crime.

I won't go into an InDesign tutorial, plenty of people have done that better than I can before.

What you need to ultimately do is end up with a PDF file for each page of your magazine that you will give to your printer. Name each file a standard p01_NAME.pdf. Covers will be labeled C1, C2, etc. You will have the option to view proofs of your files before your printer fires up the press to start your job (a big chunk of what you are paying them to do). Always look at every proof of every page; once it gets put on a plate and starts laying down ink, you are locked in.

Make sure you are happy with your printer. If you do not have a printer to print your job, start by talking to Las Vegas Printing to get a quote on your job. I recommend getting your finished magazines carton packed rather than skid packed and wrapped in plastic as this practice guarantees a percentage of waste due to not protecting the magazines on the outside of the skid.

Step #5 - Distribution Time

If you are starting a magazine that will have National or a large ranging distribution, head straight to one of the two major magazine distributors. I won't name them because they, in my opinion, make it very difficult for start ups to get in the game. I will leave it at that.

If you are starting a locally distributed magazine, read on. Yes there are services that offer to distribute your magazine for you, they will do a poor job and charge you and arm and a leg for the privilege. Distribution is paramount. If no one sees, picks up or reads your magazine then it is just a waste of time, money and trees. A major part of your focus should be dialing in the best distribution strategy possible. Do not just toss magazines in front of stores, bars, etc. and expect them to take the time to place them out in a neat fashion - they will end up in the dumpster out back. Do your own distribution. Personally ask permission from each distribution spot, not only is this the right thing to do but it is a great way to get your name out there and meet a few potential advertisers.

Step #6 - Do it again, and again and again

The process never stops in the magazine game, it is a fight at all times. There will always be strong competition, new people looking for their share of a market and times where you feel like you are the only person that reads your magazine. But if you do not fight at all, it's a guarantee that you will not win. Good luck!

Canon PowerShot Elph 300 HS Review Tube. Duration : 5.48 Mins.

For the complete Canon PowerShot Elph 300 HS review, go to www.infosyncworld.com Special thanks to Toby Johnson from Fallen Films for our new intro! Check out Toby's YouTube page here: www.youtube.com Last year we asked Canon to make some necessary improvements to the PowerShot SD1400 IS regarding zoom, image quality, and construction. Lo and Behold, the Canon PowerShot Elph 300 HS finds itself in our clutches one year later, answering every one of our prayers. Not only does it come equipped with 1080p Full HD video recording and a low light-friendly CMOS sensor, but the camera's Smart Auto mode has also been expanded, and new filters have surfaced within the Function menu. The Canon PowerShot Elph 300 HS still manages to retain its sinfully tiny body for the stylish traveler or partier, but it packs a more powerful arsenal. The Elph is back, baby! Check out our video review as well as 1080p HD video samples and photo samples of Canon's latest point-and-shoot throughout this review.

Megadeth - Holy Wars...The Punishment Due (cover)

Megadeth - Holy Wars...The Punishment Due (cover) Tube. Duration : 6.83 Mins.

I wasn't quite happy with my old cover of this song, partly due to my EQ-settings, partly due to my playing. So this time I was stubbornly determined to make it perfect, and to be honest, I had to re-play Friedman's solos LOTS of times, across several days, and that's why it took me five days to upload this cover. I think this should do it, it's not like Friedman himself but I got the notes and almost the expression right. This is arguably Megadeth's best song. This is actually the song that once got me into Megadeth, and the masterminds of Mustaine and Friedman are definitely shining in this one. Recorded from December 30 of 2009 to January 3 of 2010 using a Pentax Optio M30 regular digital camera, audio recorded with an iAudio 7. Edited using Magix Music Maker 10 Deluxe and streamed as a 640x480 resolution Windows Media Video with 25 fps. Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 Review Video Clips. Duration : 8.95 Mins.

For the full Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 review, go to www.infosyncworld.com We had to wait two years for Panasonic to revamp the LX3, so when we initially locked eyes with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5, a tidal wave of question marks bombarded our minds. How is this a different camera? Why has hardly anything changed on the outside? However, upon further investigation, it was apparent that nearly all of the LX5's improvements resided under the hood, including AVCHD Lite with full manual video controls, gaggles of Art filters for creative expression, new image processing, and other enticing features. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 battles the Canon PowerShot G12 and Nikon Coolpix P7000, and we'll tell you that the little LX5 gives both of the aforementioned giants a run for their money.

Build a Photo Booth For Fun Or Profit

You can build a photo booth to capture your friends and family's smiling faces at weddings, parties, or just for fun. If you have just a minimal amount of do it yourself skills, you too can build a decent photobooth.

What do I need to build a photo booth? Will I need any special tools or equipment?

The answer to that question depends on how fancy you want to get. If you are going for simplicity, you could simply hang curtains, and put a camera on a tripod. From there you can go on to add benches, permanent lighting, and a digital camera. If you are going to be building an actual booth, you'll need typical woodworkers or cabinet making tools.

Give your subjects the option to delete a photo of them.

Not everyone likes every picture taken of them. Make sure that your photobooth gives the subject the option to delete a picture and do a retake if desired. It's a good idea to have the lighting movable so as to give people the ability to avoid taking unflattering photos.

Plan your photo booth with enough space.

At weddings especially, guests like to take group shots. Keep that fact in mind when you are planning out your photobooth. Give them the opportunity to include all their friends in the shots. Make your benches large enough to accommodate a group of people.

Include a printer.

Guests will definitely want a copy of the photos. You may want to download all the pictures to give to the bride and groom too. Most printers will print out magnetic sheets of pictures, and this may be a great option to keep in mind. People love to have photos they can put on their fridge!

More and more, photo booths are becoming the must have item at parties and weddings. With a bit of ingenuity and skill, you can build a photo booth that will have everybody smiling.

Trends for 2012 Prom Dresses

While the prom may still be several months away, now is the time to start shopping for those 2012 prom dresses. You want to get your dress early, before all of the good ones are taken. It is also smart to allow plenty of time for any necessary alterations that will make the dress fit perfectly. Whether this will be your very first prom or your final prom before graduating, you will want a show-stopping dress. The main considerations that make a gown unique are the silhouette, neckline, hemline, color, fabric and embellishments.

This year, the biggest trend in prom dresses is the hi lo style, which is short in the front and long in the back. It gives prom goers the best of both worlds. The shorter front shows off shapely legs and allows for more freedom of movement, while the longer back provides an elegant touch. Coming in at a close second is the short cocktail dress. This is the ultimate party dress, because it is chic and sassy without being too formal. They are ideal for dancing.

Other trendy 2012 prom dress styles are the floor length mermaid, Grecian and column silhouettes. The mermaid is tight on top and through the hips, then it flares out at the knees. The main component of the column or sheath dress is the slim silhouette that is cut very close to the body. It often has a high slit to provide ease of movement. The mermaid and column styles really emphasize the curves, while the Grecian style gently skims the body. It has an empire waist and a long, loose skirt that floats away from the body. Some designs also have a slight back train.

Necklines range from the strapless sweetheart, to the one shoulder asymmetrical, to thin spaghetti straps, halters, and deep v-necks. The strapless necklines are tight, like a corset, and often have a ruched bodice with boning. The back may even lace up. Prom dresses with straps often have eye-catching jeweled embellishments that transition into a racerback. A lot of dresses also have a glitzy brooch or a cluster of jewels, sequins or rhinestones at the waistline or chest. Another modern touch is one or more cutouts. Typically, they are at the waist, but they can also be on the back or at the bust.

Feathered skirts are a major trend this year. Whether they are on a long, strapless gown or a short, cocktail dress, layers of feathers add drama and fun. The best way to wear a feathered skirt is with a tight top. For instance, a strapless, bustier style neckline with a fuller bottom will create balance. It is also less risque than the skin-tight cocktail dresses. The tiered, feathered skirts often have a ruffled wire hem inside to keep them from getting flat. Similar to feathers are rows of alternating ruffles and rosettes. Again, these will work on dresses of any length.

For a clean, uncluttered look, choose a column dress made from satin. They look like liquid when the dress moves. Another way to glisten is by wearing a dress covered with mirrored glass or sequins. When strapless designs have a heavily embellished top and an unadorned skirt, it creates an eye-pleasing contrast. Panels of overlays are featured on prom dresses this season. Some only seem to be transparent, while others actually are see-through. They can be the same color as the dress or a flesh tone. To create more excitement, sequins, beads or lace may be added on top of the overlays.

The color story is one that involves neutrals, flesh tones and electric shades. Grey is everywhere this year. It is a nice change from sliver, gold and bronze. However, they still remain popular. Pale tones, including blush, pink and champagne, are the newest colors. All the celebrities have been wearing them on the red carpet. For maximum impact, select yellow, red, blue or purple in a bright, bold shade.

With all of the wonderful options, choosing just one prom dress can be hard. Decide whether you want to look sexy, sophisticated, glamorous, ethereal or ready to party. Then, try on a ton of dresses until you find the perfect one.

Shooting, Cleaning, Cooking a Rabbit [Simple Recipe]

Shooting, Cleaning, Cooking a Rabbit [Simple Recipe] Video Clips. Duration : 10.38 Mins.

There are 1000001 ways to kill, clean, and cook a rabbit. Here is one way... Whether you are a follower of the organic movement or simply want to save money on groceries, you should really consider making use of all the free meat running around your back yard. Skinning rabbits is a breeze - no matter how you do it. And rabbit meat is about as healthy as it comes (so long as you aren't spraying your lawn with chemicals). This winter, I hope to make it out on numerous rabbit hunts. I also plan to contact my old buddies from the north lands, and see if I can join them on a walk through the woods, going after snowshoe hares. If I get a bunch more of these guys, I'll show you some other of my favorite recipes. The slow-cooker is a rabbit hunter's best friend! I was originally going to name this video "Garden Pest to Dinner 'Guest'". But, decided to keep things simple, after my last video-naming fiasco. ;) Equipment list: Edgun Matador PCP Air Rifle JSB 18.1gr pellets (900fps) Hawke Sidewinder 30 6.5-20x42mm Seben DKA2 Camera Mount (same as Orion Steadypix Deluxe) Casio EX FC 150 digital Camera

Surprise Marriage Proposal at Nashville International Airport (BNA) -- the "limo driver" method

Surprise Marriage Proposal at Nashville International Airport (BNA) -- the "limo driver" method Video Clips. Duration : 3.25 Mins.

My girlfriend Stephanie was coming home to Nashville after a trip to Paris, and so I decided to surprise her by dressing up as her "limo driver" and proposing with a big sign and roses. I drafted an innocent bystander (and his wife) to tape it for me on my digital camera -- he (and she) did amazing work! Well done, anonymous camera-crew! I wish I had gotten your names. Thanks also to my backpacking buds (my bro, my sis, and Noel) for helping me plan all this! I think the basic idea (the "limo driver") came from my bro, Scott (all hail Him with Big Ideas). My sis helped me work out the fine details, and they all pushed me to have it taped, which was a great idea. Thanks to Steph most of all: for saying Yes!

The Elf on a Shelf - 10 Sets of Mischievous Ideas For Adding Magic to Your Holiday Season

The Elf on the Shelf Christmas and Elf Magic traditions are sweeping the nation -- for good reason. They offer a delightful way to build excitement for the holidays, and keep children on their best behavior. Here is how they work.

The "official" Elf on the Shelf, Elf Magic Elf or a another elf, arrives at your home early in the Christmas season to spend the holidays with your family.

Each night the Elf on a Shelf returns to the North Pole, while your children are sleeping, to report to Santa regarding their behavior.

While the Elf on the Shelf Elves have a more staid reputation, the Elf Magic Elves are a mischievous bunch, and have a tendency to make a mess or pull a crazy stunt while everyone is asleep. Your kids will love to wake up each morning and see what trouble the Elf got into the night before.

Here are ten ideas found around the internet and from local families to inspire your elf:

Elves Love to Do What Your Kids Love To Do

Elves adapt quickly to a household, and many mornings are found busy with the favorite activities of the kids who live there. Reading favorite books, playing games (including the Wii or Nintendo DS), having a tea party with best-loved dolls, and riding skateboards are all favorite Elf past times.

Elves Are Into Computers and Social Media

Elves in homes with teens have been known to have email, Facebook and Twitter accounts to keep an online eye on the kids and send funny emails, status updates and tweets. Many elves also seem to surf the internet late at night, finding fun new sites for the kids to enjoy.

Elves Love to be in Pictures

Apparently, Elves are very good at self portraits. Many families have found their digital cameras full of pictures of their Elves in all kinds of crazy poses.

Elves Often Have A Driver's License

If an Elf cannot be found in the morning, the car is the first place to look. Elves are often found in the driver's seat, sitting on a stack of pillows or books. The car may be parked backwards or in a crazy position, and in some cases even down the street or in a neighbor's driveway. Typically, Christmas music is blaring through the speakers and the gas tank is mysteriously closer to empty than before.

Elves Write in Journals

Elves and children often learn more about each other and build bonds by writing letters back and forth. Some Elves arrive with a festively decorated journal to keep all the correspondence in one place. It has been rumored that some Elves only write backwards, so children must hold the note up to the mirror to read it. A few are conversant in Pig Latin or other codes that older kids must decipher.

Elves Tell Potty Jokes, Too

Bathroom humor spans all languages and species. Elves love to turn the toilet water green (with food coloring), decorate Christmas trees in underwear, toilet paper kids rooms or whole houses, and write on bathroom mirrors with mom's lipstick.

Elves Spell Their Names - Everywhere!

Each Elf has a name. Some are named by the children they watch. Others arrive with a note introducing the Elf. Either way, all Elves seem to love to leave their signature as often as possible. Maybe the Elf's name is written in Cheerios, flour, or chocolate syrup on the counter. Other times in toothpaste on the bathroom mirror. Best of all, in food coloring on freshly fallen snow.

Elves Love Things That Remind Them of Home

Cotton ball snowball fights are a favorite past time of elves. Also, Elves often make elf sized snow angels. If real snow is not available, then Insta-Snow or flour make good substitutes. A favorite game for Elves is Candy Lane. If the house does not already have a copy, Elves have been known to bring one from the North Pole as an early Christmas gift.

Elves Do Not Always Come Alone

What could be better than an Elf on the Shelf? Several Elves, of course. That means the mischief can multiply and children awake to elaborate scenes of Elf mayhem. Maybe a poker game or baseball or football match or a play with Elves in costume (borrowed from other dolls).

Elves Play With Their Neighbor Elves

So many families have their own Elf on a Shelf during the holidays that Elves join with neighbor Elves to increase the fun. Many neighbor elves have been waiting together at the bus stop for their children to arrive. Other Elves host a Christmas party for neighborhood kids.

As you can see, the possibilities are endless for your elf tradition. Happy Holidays!

Wedding Photography: How to Become a Successful Wedding Photographer

Once in while I receive e-mails or phone calls from aspiring or beginner wedding photographers asking me for advise on how to become successful in the wedding field. My first question is always what their motivation is to become a wedding photographer. Some will reply that they heard from somebody that it is easy money, or that they got a cool camera that takes great photos or that they would like to make some money on the side etc.
While it is true that wedding photography can be a very profitable business achieving success in the wedding industry is not just a matter of getting a camera and start shooting. Wedding photography involves artistic talent, human sense, complete mastery of photographic techniques, business knowledge, and a strong desire to learn and deliver the best to the wedding couple.

Here I have summarized some points that I believe will guide beginner wedding photographers:

1. Learn photography before anything else. A wedding photographer is expected to be a master of the craft. You will be in charge of capturing people's most precious life moments. The wedding day is not the place to learn photography.

2. Just because you got a brand new camera it does not automatically make you an effective and reliable photographer. Photography goes beyond cool toys and gadgets. Learn composition and develop a unique artistic vision. Some of the great photographs of all time were taken with manual cameras.

3. Master the digital workflow, including color management, digital image processing, file management and image correction and enhancement.

4. Learn to love photography more than anything else. Don't come to the wedding photography field with just dreams of making money. It is true that there are many successful wedding photographers that make a lot of money. However according to the Professional Photographers of America the average photographer in America makes about ,000 a year.

5. Focus on delivering quality more than quantity. Seek with all your heart to capture unique photographs.

6. Develop a style that is recognizable and unique. Don't try to be like somebody else. Clients look for unique photographers, with a unique vision.

7. Give wedding photography all your heart and effort. Long when you are gone your photographs will last forever. It is a great way to be remembered.

8. Open your heart and your mind and great photos will happen. Concentrate on the human aspect of weddings, the details, and emotions and be ready to capture them. Let the camera become an extension of you.

9. Share your technical knowledge and make connections with other wedding photographers.

10. Participate in wedding photography image competitions. It will give you the opportunity to have your work evaluated by peers and the motivation to improve your work quality.

11. Learn something new everyday. Take advantage of professional photography organizations such as Professional Photographers of America (PPA), WPPI, etc. Attend their seminars, workshops. Participate in Internet wedding photography forums and learn and share tips, tools and techniques.

12. Don't neglect the business aspect of wedding photography. Learn to manage your business effectively. Take business courses and seminars.
